What spacism.com collects when you read it, and what it doesn’t. Last updated: 2026-09-23.
Who we are
Spacism is built and operated by Spergs, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. We’re the data controller for everything described below. Privacy questions, data-access requests and corrections go to privacy@spergs.com.
The short version
Spacism is a public news page: headlines and short excerpts from space-agency and space-industry news feeds, each linking to the original article. There’s nothing to sign up for: no accounts, no comments, no forms, no newsletter. We don’t run analytics, advertising, tracking scripts or social-media embeds, and the site sets no cookies.
What we collect
Like any website, our web server logs each request it answers. A log entry holds:
- the IP address the request came from;
- the page or file requested, and when;
- your browser’s User-Agent string;
- the referring URL, if your browser sent one.
We use these logs to run the site: to keep it working, investigate errors and abuse, and understand load. They rotate on a normal schedule and are kept up to 30 days for operations and abuse investigation. We don’t use them to identify or build a profile of individual readers.
Cookies and local storage
spacism.com sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser’s local storage. There’s no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no session cookie. If you see a cookie from spacism.com in your browser, something is wrong; please tell us at privacy@spergs.com.
Third parties your browser contacts
Our pages load two things from other companies, and loading them means your browser sends those companies your IP address and User-Agent, under their own privacy policies:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) for the typefaces.
- cdnjs, run by Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com), for the Font Awesome icons.
Images and styles served from x.allcdn.net come from our own servers.
The news sources
We collect the feeds ourselves, from our servers. Your browser doesn’t contact a publisher by reading Spacism. It does when you follow a link to an article, and from then on you’re on the publisher’s site, under its own privacy policy. The current sources are listed on the status page.
Who else is involved
We don’t sell, rent or trade data, and we don’t run ads. The site and its logs run on infrastructure operated by service providers we pay, such as our hosting and cloud storage providers. They handle that data on our behalf and not for their own purposes.
Your rights
Because Spacism holds nothing tied to you beyond request logs and any email you send us, most requests are short conversations. You can:
- ask what we hold about you (UK/EU GDPR access, California CPRA right to know);
- ask us to delete it, or to correct anything inaccurate;
- complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Email privacy@spergs.com. We try to respond within 30 days.
If you email us, we’ll have what you send: your address, your name if you give it, and your message. We keep correspondence as long as it’s useful to follow up, and delete it on request.
Children
Spacism isn’t directed at children and there’s nothing on it to interact with. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 where that threshold applies). If you believe we have, email privacy@spergs.com and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If something material changes, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above. If Spacism ever starts collecting more than this, this page is the first thing we’ll change.
